The Las Vegas Raiders and Eli Apple were unable to finalize a contract, according to sources.

Apple, who played for the New Orleans Saints last season, remains a free agent.

The defensive back had agreed to a one-year deal with the Raiders on March 18.

The Houston Texans have agreed to a one-year, $3.75 million deal with Tim Jernigan.

The defensive tackle will be guaranteed $1.25 million under the deal.

A second-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2014, Jernigan turns 28 in September.
